This Saturday, Sept. 11, Bill Baird will perform his album Silence! at ISSUE Project Room in Brooklyn, NY.  The live show will feature arrangements by Christopher Cox and performed by a large ensemble of talented musicians joining Baird:  Tucker Dulin, Erica Dicker, Dave Ruder, Nathan Stein, Alexander Waterman, Kenny Wang, Karen Waltuch, and Katherine Young.

We’re also very excited that the legendary, utterly unique and brilliant guitarist-composer Loren Connors will be opening the evening with a solo performance.  Connors has released a number of classic albums including Portrait of a Soul, Little Match Stick Girl, Sails, and most recently a reissue of his Hell’s Kitchen Park album on the Netherlands based label Enabling Works.

The Weird Weeds hit the road tomorrow in support of Help Me Name Melody.  Joining them will be an improvising trio with the iconoclastic and relentlessly touring San Francisco pianist Thollem McDonas, Deerhoof guitarist John Dieterich and veteran experimental percussion Tim Barnes, who has lent his skills to a huge array of musicians including Silver Jews, Jim O’Rourke, Howling Hex and many more as well as founding the influential label Quakebasket.
